HOW SAFE DO YOU FEEL?
UCL appointed us to develop a web app for their ‘sentiment mapping project’. The initiative was sponsored by the European Commission with the goal of improving accessibility in European cities. The web app automatically located the user’s position and allowed them to save a marker on a map along with associated information about how safe they feel. We were told by the Commission that our input contributed greatly to the success of the overall Europe-wide initiative (so we’re quite proud!).
HEATMAP
The end goal of the project was to generate large amounts of sentiment data which will create a ‘heatmap’ of safety sentiment across major cities. The data could then be overlaid onto maps within software such as OpenStreetMap or Google Maps.
